As the morning mist slowly started to evaporate in the light of the rising sun, Applejack quietly hummed an upbeat tune to herself. She made her way towards the barn, ready to pick up this morning's fresh bucket of milk. On her head was the same hat she always wore, her father's worn out, well used Stetson. She trotted up to the barn, gently nudging the door open and stepping inside.
“Howdie yall, how ya doin’ this mornin’?” she asked, as the cows all greeted her. She walked up to a Holstein and set the empty bucket on the ground.
“Bessie,” she smiled, and the cow nodded.
“How you doin’ Applejack?” Bessie asked, already prepared for the milking. Applejack shrugged.
“Good, good,” she said, already going about carefully milking Bessie and filling the bucket with fresh milk. “You?”

As the two ponies trotted off, Spike turned and stepped back inside the makeshift base. Pinkie, who had been busy cleaning herself off after the fight, bounced up to him, still rubbing the sore spot on her jaw.
“Say Spikey, why did you let that pony go?” she asked, eyebrow raised.
“Well, there was a reason I called Fetlock. I had a hunch, he confirmed it, and I’m following through with it,” he said slyly, pouring himself a mug of coffee.
“And what hunch is that?” Pinkie asked as she tried to reach for the coffee only to have Spike gently push her hoof away.
“Just that our rainbow-maned friend and the hammer we found have quite a bit to do with each other. So, I think it would be best to see how things play out. And no, you can’t have coffee, we all know how you get when you drink coffee,” he said, motioning towards her other hoof, which was try

Scootaloo sat in the sterile room where the dragon had left her, staring glumly at her hooves. She could still hear the rain pitter-pattering off the tarp and dripping around her, which only managed to heighten the feeling of isolation and worry.
As much as Scootaloo would have liked to protest, she was scared. She hadn’t seen or heard neither hide nor tail of Rainbow since the other pony went down into the base and Scootaloo was starting to imagine Rainbow Dash getting captured or worse…
No way, Scoots, she told herself fiercely. There’s no way a pony as awesome as Rainbow Dash could get caught. She’s just too awesome.
The sudden sound of a doorknob jiggling caught Scootaloo’s attention. The door opened to reveal the last pony Scootaloo expected to see.
"Auntie!" She shouted, jumping out of her chair and rushing over to throw her hooves around a very reli

The tremendous monster that was Tree Flower’s daughter sat hunkered down in the corner of the cave that they had taken refuge in, hidden deep in the thick wilderness of the Everfree Forest. Tree Flower herself sat at the opposite end of the cave, unsure of what to do. She simply watched the large creature, who now sat sulking quietly, seemingly wrapped up in it’s own world.
Tree Flower honestly couldn’t believe that the beast opposite from her was actually her own daughter. Everything about the titanic pony next to her was the total opposite from her kind, gentle and above all, shy daughter. This was a being that seemed to be angry at everything around it, it’s voice a rumbling growl that was more often nothing more than inarticulate growls or grunts. It’s every muscle seemed wound as tightly as was possible, giving the creature the feeling as if it m

As soon as her conversation with Iron Will was complete, Hoofcuff had once more made a beeline for the airship. Her hopes of a swift return to Canterlot were dashed within moments.
Upon questioning, the captain of the airship had stated that the damage to the engine was such that a crucial part was in fact damaged beyond repair and they'd have to wait for the replacement part directly from San Franciscolt.
Upon hearing that news, Hoofcuff had released a very long and exhaustive list of names and offensives, to which the captain simply replied with, “Arg, ye be a real fanged siren with a bitch up her tail.”
Hoofcuff had no response to that.
So, she had been forced to hunker in a tiny motel perched over a bar of all places. The motel wasn't an awful place, but the fact that it was built over what was apparently the only bar in town certainly didn't help her personality. Even though a part of

Daring let out a happy sigh as she poured herself a steaming cup of coffee. At the breakfast table sat Scootaloo, still in her Wonderbolt pajamas, and Comet Tail, whose mane looked as if it were trying to eat his head, and groggily inspecting the morning paper. Suddenly, he frowned and drew the paper closer to his face.
“Um…hey Daring,” he said. “Have you seen this?”
“Seen what?” Scootaloo and Daring asked simultaneously, with Daring sitting down next to Comet and taking a sip of her coffee.
Comet Tail tilted the newspaper towards Daring and pointed a hoof towards a passage on the front page. Daring squinted, then rolling her eyes reached for the pocket of the tattered old shirt she always wore and pulled out her reading glasses.
“Okay then…‘Mysterious Object Found in Crater on outskirts of town’?” She r

The Saddle Arabian sat quietly in meditation just outside the labor room. The muffled sounds of someone in labor came from behind the door he was seated next to. Inspite of the loud cries of his wife inside the room, the Saddle Arabian's face appeared perfectly neutral, showing neither fear nor worry. It was his duty as a Saddle Arabian to remain calm and logical inspite of any outside forces, even it were the birth of his first child.
However, even with his face and exteriour remaining placid, his mind was still occupied with the health of his wife. She herself was not a Saddle Arabian, but rather a unicorn, and therefore a member of the Equestrian race. He knew for a fact that Saddle Arabian's were larger and considerably stronger than Equestrians, and as such, he felt concern for her. Would the birth be successful? Would the child be a healthy one, without handicaps or deformities? The mating of Saddle Arabian's and Equestrians was a rare

Rarity now stood in her bedroom, digging through her tremendous closet. Her mane was still bundled up in a towel, as she had just stepped out one of her fabled three-hour showers. In her mouth was a burning cigarette, which caused a small cloud to follow her around.
After the call to Written Script, she had spent another hour in the lab, still trying to figure out the problem with the gem. However, even she had to admit she was at a dead end, and she had since moved on to try to figure out just the right dress for the conference.
Something nice and comfortable... she thought. Probably a good three hour flight to Griefenplatz anyways...wouldn’t want to ruin one of my silk dresses.
Her eyes scanned the dozens of dresses as she shuffled through them. She halted briefly on a flashy red dress.
“No...” she murmured. “Too clingy...” she quickly moved on to another dress,

“Ma, where ya goin?” Applejack asked as Apple Blossom made her way down the stairs, a determined look on her face. She was dressed in a pair of overalls, and wore her normally flowing blonde mane back in a tight bun.
“Mama’s goin’ to work honey, remember?” Apple Blossom replied, her voice kind, yet rushed as she made a last minute touch up in front of a dirty mirror.
“But Momma why ya’ll gotta go to work?” asked Applejack with her head tilted to the side bit, just so she can get a better look at her mother.
When Apple Blossom didn’t answer, Applejack whimpered and gently tugged on her mother’s tail. She paused and looked at Applejack as she sat in the unplowed dirt. Applejack stared up at her with teary, green eyes stared up at the older mare from under the oversized Stetson she now wore on her head at all times
